1990: David Lowe leaves The Rothbury Estate; Peter Hall appointed wine-maker. Keith Tulloch joins the winemaking team.
1990: The collapse of Budget Car Hire forces Stan Hambley to sell his shares in Wyndham Estate. French drinks giant Pernod Ricard through their Australian arm Orlando buys the shares. Brian McGuigan also sells his shares to Orlando.
1990: Arrowfield sold to Inagaki family of Toyama in Japan.
1990: Saddlers Creek vineyard established on Marrowbone Road.
1990: James Davern buys Millstone Vineyard and renames it Wandin Valley Estate.
1991: John Colvin buys the de Beyers vineyard.
1991: Brian and Faye McGuigan leave Wyndham Estate.
1991: Brett Keeping buys the Dalswinton property across the river and plants a further 81 hectares
1991: Kevin Sobels buys the 21 acre property on the corner of Broke & Halls Road from Ross Jones and establishes Kevin Sobels Wines.
1991: The old Sobels Wines on McDonalds Road becomes Parker Wines under the control of Stanley Parker.
1991: Penfolds buys Lindeman's: Jay Tulloch becomes Hunter Valley manager.
1992: SA Brewing buys Penfolds, it becomes Southcorp Wines.
1992: McGuigan Brothers Wines established in the old Hungerford Hill buildings.
1993: McGuigan buys the Richmond Grove vineyard and Hermitage Estate which he renames Hunter Estate.
1994: Michael Hope buys the derelict Saxonvale winery at Fordwich, revives the vineyard and renames it Hill of Hope.
1994: Andrew Marsh buys Marsh Estate from Peter Marsh.
1994: John Davis establishes 28 ha of vineyard at Mount View named Tallavera Grove.
1995: Becker Family buy the old O'Connor dairy farm at Summer Hill. Vines planted in 1996. The vineyard is renamed Ablington.
1995: Guy and Sandra Vinden establish Vinden Estate on Gillards Road.
1996: Jay Tulloch leaves Southcorp to set up JYT Wines with wife Julia.
1996: Mildara Blass buy The Rothbury Estate.
1996: Parker Wines in receivership: is bought by Mulpha Australia and renamed Bimbadgen Estate.
1997: Andrew Thomas releases his first vintage under his own label.
1997: Bill and Wendy Lawson establish Catherine Vale in Fordwich specialising in Italian varietals.
1997: Jan & Jorg Gartelmann establish Gartelmann Wines in Lovedale.
1997: Max Patton buys Rothvale from Tyrrells; he plants a further 25 acres. The first vintage is conducted in the open air; the winery is built after vintage. Luke Patton joins the team.
1998: Lindeman's carry out a large scale renovation of their Hunter Valley cellar door at Ben Ean in preparation for the Sydney Olympic Games: they are a major sponsor. It is now known as the Hunter River Winery.
1998: Neil McGuigan leaves Pernot Ricard and joins Brian at McGuigan Wines (Briar Ridge, Rothbury?)
1999: The Shields family sell Oakvale to Richard Owens.
1999: Dalswinton sold to Challenger
